The main unit measures only 7.75 inches wide and 8.75 inches tall and is paired with a couple of 7.25-by-8.62-inch speakers, making it a great fit for space-challenged dorm rooms, bedrooms, and basements. But despite its diminutive size, the system boasts a number of convenient and fashionable features that make it a great value for the price. Among its most popular are a top-loading CD player, a blue backlit LCD display that's both stylish and easy to read, a combination cassette player/recorder, and an AM/FM stereo with a digital display.

Listeners will welcome the system's compatibility with CD-R and CD-RW discs--a must for users who frequently create their own music compilations on the computer. The cassette deck, meanwhile, lets you break out the old tape-filled shoebox and relive your favorite tunes from the '80s or record new ones from CD.
